Henry J. Luciano Jr., a native of Westport, Connecticut was raised in a traditional Italian family with five children. Henry, the second child, was born December 20, 1950. His roots in music go back to his early childhood. His father, also known as "Teddy" worked as a foreman in his family's florist business dating back to the 1900's. Every night after work his father performed at the "Jockey Club" playing his guitar and singing country music tunes, most times well in the late hours of the night. When he arrived home he found his children waiting up for him to play for them. Henry adored listening to his father perform. When his father purchased a new guitar the old guitar was passed down to the children. While in boarding school Henry was exposed to a variety of instruments. His interest in music grew, as he concentrated on learning to read music and play a variety of instruments--piano, clarinet, and his favorite the tenor saxophone.
