ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
HERBY is a native of Albany, Ga. HERBY has been performing since the ripe young age of four. This is when he picked up his first pair of drumsticks. HERBY has always showcased his flair in everything he’s ever done. HERBY finished college at Florida A and M University where he graduated with a Bachelors in which ironically his school’s rich and eclectic African American marching band heritage was part of the backdrop for HERBY’s debut film release DRUMLINE. Not being satisfied with a mere debut HERBY flaunted his dancing, musical, and acting talents to land a sophomore role in the 2007 release film STOMP THE YARD. In this film that grossed over $13.3 million in its first week HERBY’s role was that of a principle Stepper for the Thetas. Prior to this success HERBY made an appearance on the hit series DANCE FEVER broadcast on the ABC Family Channel. Additional credits include BOYCOTT an HBO Special and Amateur Night at the APOLLO.

It's Nice To Know Real Artists Still Exist
This album is soooo hot! Herb, I am so incredibly proud of you. The music that you have birthed on this album proves that you are a musical and lyrical genius in your own right. I know that whoever listens to this album will feel the same funky groove and inspiration to create, love and live life as I have. Your quest to resuscitate chivalry, love and the beautiful spirit of a real man is what is absent in today's music. Keep puttin' it down and we will keep liftin' you up! We have your back!

Underrated
This cd shows the abilities of a true artist who allows their music to speak to his audience. The whole cd has a mixture of music.

Better than most of the music nowadays.
The CD is a refreshing change from most of the vulgar and rude music hitting the airwaves. The arrangments were light and love or the idea of love flowed through most of the songs. The musical arrangements were unique and not predictable which made it really nice listen to.

It was a cool CD. It was easy listening and I could actually understand all the words. It's something I could listen while on a long drive or while I'm just chillin' around the house. Do your thing boy.

I LOVE THIS STYLE OF MUSIC

I have missed real music...
I am used to going backwards to find music - Robert Johnson, Son House, King Curtis, Jackie Wilson, Wilson Pickett, Duane Allman, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Otis Redding, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, the Spinners - you know the list.

If you look closely enough at my dusty cassette box, you will also see Morris Day and the Time, Prince, Bell Biv DeVoe,(oh my Heavens) Deee-Lite, or even Will Smith (with DJ Jazzy Jeff - 'They took turns - one would beat me while the other was driving!').

Every few years, I see a spark - Terence Trent D'arby? Simply Red? Or even better, a flame - Robert Cray? Seal!!!

So why am I writing now? Because I hear something beyond the sparks and flames -a young man with something to communicate that I think will rattle all of us. All of us.

I don't always hear it in the lyrics; that's skimming the surface. This message runs deeper and demands that I give it its due respect. Anything less is a short sale.

Get this: Our opinions on the pith and circumstance of this music and this style misses the entire point.

HERE IS MUSIC. Did you get that? You know, MUSIC - that stuff that gets by our valleys and our low expectations. That stuff that, regardless of anything else, makes us actually open our mouths and sing along.

So...GET this. I mean it.

Actual Music
I am used to going backwards to find my music - the Spinners, Otis Redding, Duane Allman, King Curtis, Wilson Pickett, Jackie Wilson and so on.

Every so often, I find a spark - Terence Trent D'Arby? Simply Red?

Rarer, I tie into a real flame - Bell Biv DeVoe! Seal! Robert Cray?

Herby? Absolutely. I am so relieved to know that music is with us - real music. I wonder where I should write to find out when the next album is due; this man's water runs deep. If you caught any of this, make sure you got this part: this man's water runs deep.
