Composer William Herriott was born in Miami Florida and began his musical journey as a junior in high school. Herriott became fascinated with the art of playing percussion and as a result, joined the school band. Although his musical journey began later than most, Herriott's aptitude for music was highly accelerated to the point that it enabled him to later attend Florida A & M University as a music education major.
Upon graduating from FAMU, Herriott later relocated to Atlanta Georgia where he resides. Herriott currently enjoys success as a well respected educator of music. His passion and objective is to expand the scope of classical music as we know it while laying a solid foundation for an association dedicated to promoting classical music for the twenty-first century.
With the debut of his new CD "Songs for Autumn" featuring the Piedmont Winds. Herriott is out to set a new standard in classical music for the twenty-first century. His intuitive arrangements make this a composition to be enjoyed by many.
