Chasing the Bear

by Jon Hicks: Chasing the Bear

One of the greatest Irish music flatpickers alive. Hot jigs and reels, some songs also. With Paddy Keenan on pipes and Niamh Parsons on one track. Awesome.

Album Notes
Jon Hicks is one of the finest flatpickers in traditional Irish music. He is a master of playing fiddle tunes on the guitar at lightning speed without forgetting that the music is first and foremost dance music and that it needs to keep its lilt. He also is one of the few players who can maintain both speed and clarity in playing Celtic fiddle tunes on the guitar.

Jon is a genius. Check out the first track and you'll agree.

Jim Paterson

Brilliant guitarist. How this guy has not had a wider audience is beyond me.
