This, himiko's second album, shows a good mix of house/dance music, with a jazzy infusion, and a slight metallic side.
Very listenable, dancy tunes (Transfer, Static) breeze by, falling away into the heavier yet just as dancy and catchy tracks (Third Eye, Thunder Dance). The title track is very chilled out (a nice reprise from Thunder Dance). Maze Pounds with industrial power and purpose, yet still retains its beauty. the album is then rounded off with another two wonderfull dancy tracks.
In all this album is quite beautifully chilled out, with a couple of heavier tracks to keep it interesting. Its catchy, and dancy, and very intelligently put together.
Many tracks would be perfect for soundtrack use, or even for computer games!
As with all of Himiko's albums her genius key work shines through only when necessary, with her dexterous and heartfelt style brightening up each track.
If youve already heard "Heavy Metal Wannabe..." This album is very similar in feel, although more chilled out.
If your new to Himiko, heres a good place to start if you like dancy or jazzy music, and you want to hear something new.
If your into metal or a goth - as it says above, after a night out, this is perfect for putting on when you get home, and having a few drinks with friends, maybe a little dancing for an afterparty ^_^.
