Album Notes
In 1863, after Kansas"Jayhawkers" attacked, murdered, burned and ravaged most of Western Missouri, a group of men met on the Sni-a-Bar creek in Mid-West Missouri. From that tiny creek they plotted an attack on Lawrence, KS that was executed with fiery revenge and retaliation. This song is a first-person narrative, perspective from one of those men, as the emotions of loss and despair built and culminated in the destruction of Lawrence, KS by four hundred young Missouri men riding under a black flag on the morning of August 21, 1863. All ashes to ashes and dust to dust kind of stuff.
