HKB FiNN is a Spoken Word Artist with a difference. His music is deeply soulful, organic and incorporates a wide range of influences, which are rooted in the traditions of Reggae, Hip Hop, Blues, Jazz and West African sounds.
As a solo artist, he wanted to explore the connections between cultures and incorporate the folk traditions of the African Diaspora, with West African music to create a new contemporary sound. This became the birth of his: Acoustic Afro Hip Hop sound world.
HKB FiNN is willing to go wherever his music can take him. The result of this exploration gave birth to an interwoven form of: Rap, Spoken Word Poetry and a humanistic ‘social consciousness’ soon took their place as a natural part of his ‘organic’ sound.
After his tour in 2007 of Brazil, Mexico & SOuth Africa, HKB FiNN wanted to create a new sound celebrating life and looking at the positive side of modern living.
With the help of various producers including: Tunde Jegede, Derek Johnson, Don Jose and Maya Jobarteh, the journey to create a new legacy has just begun. HKB FiNN’s blend of modern electro-acoustic music, deft lyrics and non-conformist views has led him to be praised in both Hip Hop as a musical ‘innovator’, ‘highly original’ and ‘an inspiration to hear’.
HKB FiNN embodies all the worldly influences of a cosmopolitan city and continues to attract new audiences not normally associated with Hip Hop or Spoken Word Poetry. Take a listen to hear how far we’ve come…
