Album Notes
Sue Hoadley is known for her improvisational, original free flowing music played on celtic harp and Native American flute, and for her use of therapeutic music in homes, hospitals and hospices. Sue’s approach to healing through music is deeply spiritual as well as grounded in proven principles of sound healing.
Sue’s live and recorded therapeutic music has demonstrated effectiveness in regulating patient’s respiration, blood pressure, and heart rate. It is significantly effective in reducing anxiety and agitation in patients and in some cases reducing the patient’s perception of pain. Her music has been effective in helping wean ventilator patients, with IV insertion, sheath removal, and when life support is discontinued.
Many people comment that they use Sue's recordings to settle down their nervous systems, accompany yoga and meditation, create a romantic atmosphere and easily fall peacefully to sleep.
Sue is a Certified Music Practitioner and graduate of the Music for Healing and Transitions Program ( This national certification program has a scientifically based curriculum that stresses the measurable results produced by using music in medicine and trains the practitioner in the different forms of healing music. She has an extensive background in teaching, health care management, and marketing. She has produced CDs of therapeutic music on harp and flute, teaches workshops, gives private lessons, performs solo and plays for weddings and events. She founded the Healing Harp Program at the Heart Hospital of New Mexico in March 2000, where she plays harp and Native American flute music at the bedside of critically ill as well as chronically and terminally ill patients. She has played over 7000 hours of therapeutic music as the harpist for the Heart Hospital of New Mexico, Kindred Hospital, Odyssey Hospice, and Sandia Hospice.. She has played in the operating room during surgery, and has used the Healing Harp with guided meditation with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.
