Album Notes
After 10 years of lighting up dance floors with their eclectic selection of cover songs, the Hometown Sweethearts have decided to follow the footsteps of such acclaimed artists as The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Van Halen and Cinderella, and begin releasing their original material.

This first record captures the lively spirit of their live shows, all the while making nods to their eclectic musical influences. The tunes draw equally from the song craft of the 60's, the dance beats of the 70's, the electro-pop of the 80's, the collage rock of the 90's and push it into the here and the now. Hometown Sweethearts have crafted a sound that is both familiar, and uniquely their own. They will fit nicely into the soundtrack of your life.

No one trick pony....
I am familiar with this band. And been to a handful of their shows. Up to this point this band had played together for the fun of it, playing unique cover songs, gettin the party goin in an instant, and generally rocking everyone's socks off catering to all sounds and musical tastes. But I have to say, the cover band thing although great and all, pales in comparison to the true musical and creative talent the Sweethearts seem to have. The creativity, the beats, the lyrics, and energy all come together to give a feel of music we once were familiar with, but with a new twist. If you are not bobbing your head or tapping your foot throughout the album something is wrong. I am really impressed with the layers of sounds and the overall up beat tempo meshing with lyrics we can all, in someway probably relate to. The disc is definitely worth picking up. This is a solid ORIGINAL band who happened to put a cover album out first in my opinion.
