ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Since moving to Toronto from opposite sides of the country in 2008, Aline Homzy and Andrew Kesler have both earned reputations as top-level, award-winning musicians in the Canadian music scene. After years of working together on a wide-array of creative endeavors, in 2012 they set out to compose and record original music as a duo. The Dragon Suite is the result; a concept album of violin and piano duets that borders somewhere between chamber jazz, avant-garde, and a motion picture soundtrack. The music tells a story, and the listener decides how it ends.

Before it's official release, the Dragon Suite was nominated for the "Best Jazz" category at the Toronto Independent Music Awards (TIMA) in 2012. In 2013, it was nominated at the International Independent Music Awards in both the "Contemporary Classical Album" and "Instrumental Song" categories.
