B-Slide traded his beloved baseball mitt for a guitar when he was 16. His first gigs were the streets of Santa Cruz for spare change. After a lot of abuse and Honky Tonk jam sessions he landed some paying jobs at bars and saloons in San Jose, Santa Cruz and Redding. Roadhouse Rocking music highlighted by Bittercreek Band.
B-Slide took some time off to woodshed with Frank DiSalvo (another Santa Cruz boy) and learned all those pesky Jazz Chords and Scales. B-Slide then met le Hook and formed a Road Kill band playing and fishing in remote bars and fishing resorts for twenty years. Writing songs of their times came next and this album project was started. B-Slide covers slide guitar, lead guitar, harmonica and vocals.
Hook Jaw Brown
le Hook was raised in Santa Cruz and moved north when the fishing died to a small drinking town with a fishing problem in the middle of trout heaven. le Hook started playing in the fifth grade, mastering the sax, piano, guitar and bass. He retired from drinking and began writing with B-Slide. Still fishin and pickin though. le Hook covers bass, rhythm and lead guitar and vocals.
Trout Heaven calls them back again and again, where clean air, tall pines and warm beds give them the reason for Hook Jaw Brown.
