Album Notes
Hopped Up are a 5-piece Rockabilly- and 50s Rock'n'Roll Combo from Northern California who play a fantastic mixture of authentic Rock'n'Roll sounds and Hi-Octane-Hot Rod Music. Most of the tracks like Bop House, Get Gone, Don't Make Me Holler, Bigelow-6-200 or Carl Perkins' That Don't Move Me are sung by Scotty "Scotchy McBoozy" Bruemmer but there's also a lot of fine duet material like Rock & Roll Rocket and Little Pig. Most of the 12 songs are composed by Scotty and Ralph Rodriguez. The CD has a nice booklet which includes nearly all lyrics and a great stylish design. You better throw this fine silver thang in your local troublemaker and GET GONE!!!

The new Hopped Up! CD, Get Gone, is real gone, Daddy-o...
The new Hopped Up! CD, Get Gone, is real gone, Daddy-o, all the way back to the Janis Martin and Wanda Jackson schools of rockabilly, yet with some contemporary twists.

It certainly touches on all the important rockabilly themes from bygone times to the present day, like where to go boppin' ("Bop House" of course), what get drunk on ("Drinkin' that Gin Again"), an honest-to-goodness "Rock and Roll Rocket" song, a homage to '50s cars ("Old Car"), and a homage to cars and girls together ("Hot Car Girls"). Talk about a rockabilly smorgasbord, dig in!

Hopped Up!'s rockabilly love, however, takes a more contemporary turn than most of what one finds in Janis' and Wanda's catalogs. Song titles like "Don't Make Me Holler," "That Don't Move Me," "Bad Girl Boogie," and "Get Gone (You Two-Timin' Daddy Who I Caught Doin' the Horizontal Mambo with Peggy Sue, You)" speak volumes about a rockabilly gal's heart in the 21st Century. Could Scotty Shanks-Bruemmer's married status have anything to do with her take on love? Naaaah, they're just songs after all, but why not visit www.hoppedup.com to hear song samples, pick up the CD and find out for yourself?

Rockabilly as it should be played
Rockabilly as it should be played - strong musicianship but never too slick. The real surprise is woman singer Scotty Shanks-Bruemmer. There is a good mix of original as well as some covers (Dale Hawkins, a really obscure Carl Perkins tune, Brenda Lee) all rendered in classic slappin' r-a-b fashion and yet not slavishly imitative. And the song, Old Cars, with its jibes at the gearhead life, is funny but true.

An authentic high energy sound with intellegent lyrics.
This CD Rules! I saw the band at the West Coast Kustoms' Car Show in Paso Robles and picked up the CD. It's great. An authentic high energy sound with intellegent lyrics.

The layout is great too, it even includes the lyrics in the pamphlet.

This CD rules!
I can't get this CD out of my CD player. It's great.

Hopped Up is full Custom!
Scotty reminds me of a Patsy Cline waiting for her third Bloody Mary. This band is clean, slick, clear and true. If any one loves Rockabilly- this is the band. We need more female 'billy vocalist and I think Scotty has taken the lead...More PLEASE!!!
