Hurts to Laugh

by Hurts to Laugh

Stark dark and fun describe this debut of epic guitars and the beat of life. Dude, it sounds like Black Sabbath raping the Go-Go's.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The first collection of Hurts to Laugh songs recorded over year long period from 2006 and 2007. These songs mark the first attempt of Cliff Cobain's fleshing out of his grunge and punk inspired alterna-anthems. Borrowing from varied sources like Fugazi, Nirvana, and Ministry, Cliff cobbled together a collage of epic guitars and mind-numbing texture with ambitions of power pop grandeur. Recording all instrumental parts himself, Cobain discovered the signature drop-A tuning that gives Virgin High and Hurts to Laugh's later catalog its buzz-saw soupy-ness.
