Hyper Sniper is a jerk. Certified. Actually, this independent artist hailing from Kansas City's underground rap scene is a skilled lyricist and Hip-hop enthusiast, complete with microphone and meat cleaver. Sniper's music is a well-planned blend of backpacker-style lyrical ability with a chainsaw twist, which serves fans of Rap from different genres across the board.
Dating back to 2005, Hyper Sniper began publicly releasing promo albums online as a means to gain attention from possible fans, establishing himself as a noteworthy artist. Those promo albums led to a pro-pressed mixtape release in 2007, titled "Manhunt the Mixtape," a violent audio explosion loosely based on the controversial video game "Manhunt." Following the release of Manhunt, Sniper began work on a retail-ready album, Patriot. The product of several strenuous sessions was something original, an innovative disc that's unrelentingly hardcore, yet commercially accessible at the same time.
For the time being, Patriot represents the new era of the Mid-West Slaughterhouse, Sniper's quasi-label of team mates that make music together and embarrass wack adversaries and frienemies to the point of receiving stalker-like adoration and undaunting interest. Patriot is now and forever, the independent middle finger, covered in blood and gun powder residue, challenging the idea of "normal."
