Album Notes
Originally from Brazil, in the States since I was 21, one of my first experiences as a singer was at 19 in a Blues band in Sao Paulo, where we won a few battle of the bands. Next, this love for Classic Rock spiraled me into becoming a DJ for a mainstream radio station - Mix FM, also working at a major record label's recording studio – Copacabana Records and moving abroad to study Audio Recording in Manhattan – Institute of Audio Research.

Through this New York Odyssey, in the process of learning English, I've been influenced by many musical styles, surrounded by this multicultural society and working in projects with several national touring musicians from different backgrounds.

HypnoSmoothie, a project which I've carried on as the bandleader for 4 years since it's first ensemble, started as a Brazilian Jazz band though today you may find us either celebrating mellow Bossa Nova compositions at some fancy cocktail hour or playing very funky sets on appropriate wild stage scenarios – when booking, please specify your interest :)

This coming album Torus, is a collection of songs that are influenced by and often mixes many styles. Through Samba, Jazz, Reggae with a contemporary twist of electronic sounds. All invented, recorded and produced in my Living Room.

Hope you enjoy the interplanetary sounds,

Pauline Salotti
