ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Melomics is a research project promoted by the University of Malaga, and it is partially funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. Iamus, a computer-composer which is able to make contemporary classical music, has been developed within this project. Iamus is different from previous algorithms in that it obtains scores in standard musical notation, and because their works are comparable to human ones. In programming Iamus a biomimetic approach has been followed, where each composition develops from its genome (featuring multicellular beings), and compositions evolve towards an increasing complexity and beauty. This evo-devo approach is among the most promising methods in the field of Computational Intelligence.."
Dr. Francisco J. Vico, PI of the Melomics project (Group of Studies in Biomimetics, University of Málaga - Spain)

Embryo?
Beethoven wins hands down, but this album is fascinating in that with further work on the software this could be the embryonic beginning of some really neat compuser composing.

eh...
technologically,a good step, musically, it's really missing something. the best i can really compare it to would be the android Data from star trek trying to tell a joke, the words for the punchline was there, but without the delivery the meaning was lost...

r

techno-fluff
Useless techno-garbage. A complete waste of time for all involved and anyone who bothers to listen.
