ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Traditional Christmas hymns and contemporary songs sung with lovely harmonies and beautiful instrumentation. Includes such unusual pieces as Christ Child's Lullaby, Still A Bach Lullaby, Carol of the Birds (also known as Caroo, Caroo), and See Amid The Winter Snow. Here are a few excerpts from the liner notes:

"Still A Bach Lullaby is an ingenious arrangement that weds the traditional Austrian carol, Still, Still, Still with Bach’s/Charles Gounod's timeless classic, Ave Maria.

"The words for See Amid The Winter Snow were written by
Edward Caswall (1814-1878). The music was written by John Goss (1800-1880). Goss was an organist at St Paul's Cathedral and a Professor at the Royal Academy of Music. He received a knighthood in 1872.

"The Christ Child’s Lullaby is a carol from the Hebrides (the group of islands off the west coast of Scotland)."
