The Shack is back! “Island Love Shack 4” has 18 tracks of off the hook love songs and smash hits by the biggest names in reggae.
Your love shack experience kicks off with international blockbusters - Shaggy’s number 1 hit in the US and UK, “Angel,” is followed by Beres Hammond’s “Rockaway,” his number 1 hit from the Grammy award winning album, “Music is Life” and “She’s Still Loving Me,” by the royal family of reggae, Morgan Heritage.
Local hits by Hawaii’s top artists abound! Peek inside the shack and hear “Hopin’ and Prayin’” by the 808 State’s favorite Hoku Award winning reggae band, Natural Vibrations, iNoA’oLe’s “Take This Raft,” from their Hoku nominated debut release, “Genres,” “If It Ain’t Real Love,” by B.E.T., the top duo in local hip-hop/reggae, and one of the most popular acts in local music, “Groove Witcha,” the mega hit by island music’s favorite party voice, Norm, “Tropically Fine,” by O-shen, the Hoku award winning known for his urban island rhythms, “Never Go Astray” by Malino, five young men from Maui who were only sixteen when they recorded their smash hit debut album, and “Down In The Valley,” the first hit for Ekolu, one of Hawaii’s most popular trios.
Representing the British Isles, Bitty Mclean, who has solidified a world wide fan base with his smooth reggae/pop sound, performs “I Want A Love I Can See,” with Hawaii’s lovely Rocky Brown. From the island of Jamaica, Luciano, often called reggae’s Annointed One, delivers “Good Things Come To Those Who Wait” with grace and power. The West Coast’s contribution to the love shack experience are two bands which have created their own signature reggae sound. Southern California’s reggae/ska sensation, Slightly Stoopid, whose fans who call themselves “stoopid heads” flock to the band’s 200 plus live shows each year, perform their national hit, “Sweet Honey.” Combining silky smooth harmonies with a ragamuffin style, One Groove, performing “All My Life,” has become the Bay Area’s premier reggae band. On the other side of the pond, from Long Island, comes “Romantic,” by East Coast riddem master, Lupa.
Fans of Big Island reggae band, Ka’u, will delight to the sounds of Demetrius Oliveira – Big D – as he sings his never before released version of Gregory Abbott’s “Shake You Down.” “When Will I Know,” the debut release of The Kaimana Band is sure to please fans of Rodney Bejer, Erik Folk and Kawika Regidor of Ka’ala Boys’ fame. Island music fans who crave romantic reggae will fall hard for newcomer Reid Hashiro’s “Here I Am.”
