"Ivy's not good—she's fantastic." Simon Cowell
The Philadelphia born Neo Soul singer Ivy Chanel is releasing her second single off the album “Up in the Air”. Follow up to the Amazon #1 new release “The Wind Blows”.
"'For you' is both a heartfelt and edgy expression of the desire to feel valued in a relationship". Ivy Chanel
Part African American, French and Native American (Cherokee & Blackfoot) singer now London based, is unleashing her unique vocal style and uplifting songs on the UK.
Sister of the legendary DJ hall of fame inductee, Hip Hop legend DJ Cash Money; Ivy has a rich musical legacy. Singer, musician, dancer and vocal coach, Ivy’s talent knows no limits, raised in USA with the greats of Soul and Gospel such as Sam Cooke to The Jackson 5, all the way to Barbara Streisand and Sergio Mendes.
Ivy states her Native American roots as an integral part of her identity and is actively incorporating this in all areas of her career. Ivy wishes to introduce the music listening public to one of the oldest, but least represented nations in the entertainment industry.
“Native Americans are generally only represented as villains in the Wild, Wild West or with images of Pocahontas, there is so much more to our story, past and present. I wish to be a conduit for greater awareness and understanding using my God given talent”
In her career so far Ivy has worked with an impressive list of people, as a performer and vocal tutor, most notably Simon Cowell who instantly became a fan of Ivy’s voice and her tutoring skills. Ivy has tutored X Factor hopefuls including Orise Williams (JLS), Britain’s Got Talent’s Antony Duncan (Flawless) & Nilyne Field for P Diddys “Making the Band”. Others collaborators include Grammy award-winning Scratch Professor, The Temper Trap, Q-tip, Neo Soul legend Omar, DJ Kazu (Japan) and many more.
To date Ivy has performed for President Clinton, Tony Blair and many other dignitaries, throughout the UK, USA and rest of Europe. Venues include Sadlers Wells Theatre, Café de Paris, Jazz Café, Puma Clyde event at Koko’s (London), venues in Zagreb, Croatia, The Global Gathering festival, Philip Treacy's show at London Fashion Week (attendees included Lady Gaga, Sarah Jessica-Parker, Grace Jones & others) and Lovebox.
