ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
IYEZ somehow seems like a creature that emerged fully formed from the depths. There is a clarity within this chaos that really makes you wonder where these songs came from. Sliding from drugged dream states into blaring euphoria, Psychic Jungle is both worldly and ephemeral. This is a dystopian world, haunted by the barely concealed fact of active decay. And even though death lives here year-round, and loneliness, so do life, and blinding color. Natural vocal melodies and a relentless rhythm section keep the songs moving forward, while a squall of lead guitar make them feel them fierce and fecund. Even when the ecstasy reaches full boil, it is always administered with a steady hand and a fearless power that seems to feed directly from the source. At those moments, the joy is infectious to the point of intoxication. But the sensation of flying eventually passes and it is the real, compassion and honesty contained in this record that make it clear that life trumps death. This is an undeniably human transmission, blaring through the spectral fuzz.
