ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Doone Records is proud to announce the upcoming release of the first ever live album from IZZ. IZZ Live at NEARfest will be available December 4th, 2007. This live album captures IZZ as they kick off NEARfest 2007. Recorded in Bethlehem, PA, IZZ Live at NEARfest spotlights the thrilling power and engaging force of a live IZZ performance.

Now fans will have the opportunity to get a taste of what those who have seen them play live already know - that an IZZ performance is truly a memorable and emotional experience.

“Our NEARfest performance really captured what IZZ is all about for me. Something magical happens when the seven of us perform on stage together and I am excited that now everyone will be able to get a sense of that magic,” notes drummer Greg DiMiceli.

Stunning live album!
I've just been reminded again of what a truly kick-*ss album "IZZ Live at NEARfest" really is. This excellent live album represents IZZ extremely well as the dynamic, confident, and powerful live act they are, and as a force to be reckoned with on the current music scene.

As one who was in attendance at this performance in June 2007, I can say that their NEARfest gig was a perfectly chosen and executed 60 minutes of IZZ music. A dream show, containing lots of "goose-bump moments" - all captured here in vivid sonic detail with a flawless mix - this is one of the best-sounding live albums I've ever heard. And, unlike many live offerings, it translates quite well to its concise, single-CD format. This is melodic, soaring, and emotional music that grabs you right from the start of the new 'Swallow Our Pride' and never lets go until the last strains of the rousing closer 'Star Evil Gnoma Su' and the jaunty encore 'Mists of Dalriada' have faded away. This is chill-inducing stuff!

One of the best young bands of the decade has now produced one of the decade's best live albums. Highest recommendation!

IZZ Live at NEARfest 07
I have been following IZZ since 1998s "Sliver of a Sun" and I've seen them live about 15 times now. This is a very nice live recording with a good cross-section of their material. As always, their performance is engaging, emotional and musically satisfying.
