ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
JackValve

We are an old school rock 'n roll band from Hatfield Pretoria, South Africa. Our music is an amalgamation of rock 'n roll and a dash of blues, influenced by such bands as Van Halen, AC/DC, Guns 'n Roses, The Darkness, Metallica, etc. Like one of our songs describes 'Let's give rock 'n roll to the people', we strongly believe in the power of rock 'n roll and we're on a mission to bring it to the people.
An old school combination of Drums, Vocals, Lead and Rythm Guitar and bass provided by:

Joe Kruger (Vocals)
Stephen Kosterman (Lead Guitar, Backup Vocals )
Rudi Kleingeld (Rythm Guitar, Backup Vocals)
SL Leroux (Bass, Backup Vocals)
Gerhardt Diedeikse (Drums)

provides an in-your-face, energy fuelled rock 'n roll frenzy that'll keep your foot tapping 'till morning.

Fan quotes:

'So, I was at Mieliepop festival this weekend. And during the Uriah Heep show (which was brilliant by the way) I commented to a friend that JackValve should've opened for them. He simply replied: "Yah... the only problem is that they would've been better than Uriah Heep"'.

'The last band i'd like to see before I die is Jackvalve'

'F*ckin' great!'

The band was intitiated originally as Valve (To be changed six months later to JackValve) in January 2011 by Stephen and Rudi. They were later joined by the rest of the members in February 2011. We started out by playing various events around Pretoria as well as a battle of the bands in which we came a close second. Later in February we became the victors of yet another battle of the bands provided by RockStars. In July 2012 the band parted ways with their original drummer, Barend Roelofse with Gerhardt as replacement.

Recording of the album started in September 2011 thanks to a sponsor from Patrick de Beer. The band recorded at Riviera Studios with Pieter Stanton as sound engineer and co-producer. The album was produced by Stephen and Pieter over an 8 month period. With the aid of SJ Smit as Art Director the album's art was a done deal.
Thanks to the help of people who believe in us we were able to release our debut album in September 2012, the official launch will be on December 1st 2012.

The album features the single 'Rock 'n Roll', which describes the band's mission vividly:

'Bloodshot eyes and a bloody nose, an aching back and broken bones. If there's one thing that you should fight for, you should fight for Rock 'n Roll'.

Wow!!!, what an album by JackValve
Wow!!!, what an album. This is one of the best rock albums I have ever heard in long time. This album brittles with fresh sounding belters and hot guitar riffs. Jackvalve sound like they just want to rock and have fun in the process of making music to play live. A really cool hard rock album by a young and energetic 5 piece hard rockers band which embraces the idea that rock 'n roll is forever and hard!!! This album is a glorification of straightforward, no-holds-barred rock that you listen to purely for the pleasure of playing some air guitar.
You can hear many influences here, particularly from AC/DC, Van Halen, but it is still very different sound. It is strongly reminiscent of AC/DC when they started out, thus also a real crowd mover band all the way from Pretoria South Africa. The strong guitar team (Stephen Kosterman (Lead guitar and Rudi Kleingeld – Rhythm guitar) backed up by bassist LeRoux Minnaar and drummer Gerhardt Diedericks , pumps out red-hot riffs with remorseless momentum aided by the strong vocals of Joe Kruger. To me the best track is “Jump ‘n get Dirty”, a real thrill seeker, but the track “Black ‘n Blue” is also a slower paced beauty which is a real sing-along hard rock song. Another beauty is “Rock and Roll” a real mover which gets your feet thumping and playing along big time.
Seriously Recommended!!!
