ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Playing with Fire is a mini-release that puts on display Jade's love of hybrid musical compilations with pieces inspired by
Contemporary Classical, Bossa nova, Jazz, Dancehall and Film music backed by Old and New School Hip Hop beats produced by Jade's musical partner-in-crime Roburt Reynolds. Anunexpected turn will find the ever-versatile artist rapping over the title track Fire.

"I'm always asking the Classical music industry to step outsideof-the-box. This time I wanted to see how far I could push my own boundaries. I also wanted to be the boss of my own art instead of complaining about what wasn't being done for me by other entities."

Jade is not only one of the world’s few and most accomplished African-American, female Classical pianists and the
internet personality for both the Van Cliburn and Tchaikovsky International music competitions, but is also a former
1st runner-up at Miss America, an advocate for youth suicide prevention and a writer who also blogs for the Huffington Post. She has won accolades for her contributions on and off the stage in Symphony Magazine, on Magic Johnson’s new TV network Aspire, Ebony Magazine’s Top 30 under 30 list and can be most recently found on Essence Magazine’s Style & Substance list (October 2012) alongside the likes of First Lady Michelle Obama, Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas, Media Mogul Tyra Banks, Jamaican Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller and Award-winning Actress/Singer Audra McDonald.
Superwoman Records will serve as the launching pad for the release of Jade’s most genre-smashing recordings and
eventually will be dedicated to the release of "adventurous music by adventurous women". Superwoman Records will focus on mini-releases such as singles, EP's and mix tapes, all formats Jade describes as being woefully underutilized in the world of Classical, Contemporary Classical and Experimental concert music.
