Jake This Dot Com

by Jake Johannsen

This is Stand up Comedy. The really good kind. This guy has been on David Letterman's show 32 times and has 2 HBO specials, a Comedy Central Special and many other credits. Buy this CD and go see him live. I am not lying. Do it.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
When does a comedian’s credit become a helluva lot more than just a credit? Well, one answer to this weird little riddle is when it’s Jake Johannsen’s “Letterman” credit: He’s appeared on the show more than any other younger comic (heck, maybe more than any comic), so many, in fact, that a precise count might be nigh impossible, but certainly upwards of 30 times. There are truly great comedians who’ve been on “Letterman” fewer than five times--and some who’ve never been booked on the show--so this is just one measure of what an immensely accomplished, creative, prolific and funny comic Jake is. You want another? Remember when TV Guide published its list of “The 50 Funniest TV Moments Of All Time”? Number 36 was Jake’s 1992 hourlong HBO special, “This’ll Take About An Hour.” Again, this wasn’t recognizing the funniest moments of, say, 1992--but of all time. To put this further in context, Numb

Jake never lets me down with his humor.
I have seen Jake over ten times the past 15 years around the country. His show is always new and reflects what is happening in the world as it changes. His 2 cd's capture his live shows and display his down to earth humor enough to keep me refueled until I can see him again live.

A Home Run!
This CD has all new and hysterical material. The bit about fighting nut cancer with Lance had me in stitches. My favorite, though, was about how dumb it is to ban smoking on the beach and in bars ("I prefer to wear out my organs evenly.") Jake Johannsen is one of the best!

Great performance by a very funny and appealing fellow
My husband and I have been laughing at Jake's comedy for the past 20 years. In our opinion he is the funniest stand-up artist currently performing, and it's a great mystery to me that he is not a household name. Maybe he likes it that way! Anyway, this CD will not disappoint -- it's Jake at his topical best - a kind of gentle edginess.

Great CD.
Very underrated comedian; he really should be more famous than he is. Buy it.

Always good!!! Never disappointed!!
This CD, like the previous one, is great. I love to listen to JJ when he improvises: he is awesome at doing that and this cd has more examples of his ability to take the moment and go with it. Highly recommended!

Another Brilliant Comedy CD
Jake has done it again!!! I've been following Jake's Comedy for many years now and he's always been incredibly funny. His new CD is OUTSTANDING!!! Once again Jake has proven that he is far and away one of the funnist people on the face of the earth. I hope Jake keeps it up making us laugh when we see him live and providing teriffic CD's like this for many, many years to come. Awesome work Jake!

So funny!
I have been a fan of Jake since 1992 when he had an HBO special. I have seen him 3-4 times now at a local comedy club over the years. While his Live at Cobb's CD is better, this CD represents his comedy well. Don't miss him live when he comes to your town!

Jake Rocks
Bought this CD in anticipation of seeing Jake in NYC--wife and I listened to it on the drive home. Terrific.

this man is the most naturaly funny man in the business
jake shows us on this cd that he can incorperate his material with audience interaction. his material is very accessible and real. although i could be funnier, it would require nudity and then therapy so he wins, easily. my favorite.
