Spanning every genre from bluegrass to funk to rock'n'roll to surf to meditative, PB&JAM hits a nerve with kids and parents alike. Kids love everything about the CD (to the point of obsession), and parents admittedly play it even when the kids aren't around. The music and lyrics are edgy, clever, real, fantastical and fun, and every song has accompanying moves and grooves. Push the furniture to the walls, clear the floors, turn up the volume, and boogie down together! You will feel the love, guaranteed.
Peanut Butter and JAM is the second offspring of San Francisco's most hip-happy family music group, Charity and the JAMband. It's a jamboree of dance-happy tunes meant for the whole family to share. "Our music celebrates the joy of childhood and family life," explains Charity Kahn, bandleader, songwriter, lead vocalist and keyboard player with the JAMband. Kahn, a mathematician, musician and mother of two young children, has published a book on the connections between math and music. Her music-activity Jamboodas classes in San Francisco are popular with parents, caregivers and kids. Kahn strives to spread joy, connection and family fun through song, dance and silliness. She's been rocking the kids ever since she became a mom.
