Album Notes
I've been a singer/songwriter from an early age, and the story of how it all began is worth telling, at least for a laugh.
When I was four years old in Pensacola, Florida, I entered a talent show. Spontaneously, I offered to sing a song at the end of the talent show on the beach one evening. Although I had no idea of what I was going to sing about, I did survey the area for a topic. I saw a trash can. No. I saw a pine tree. No. I saw a flagpole. Yes. I was born on the Fourth of July. So, I began to sing a spontaneous melody, somewhat comically, I assume, because people began to laugh. They tried to take the microphone away from me, but I didn't stop singing. I could see everyone laughing in the audience, so I sang even louder, just with one lyric, "Flagpole!". I won the talent show on my first ever performance. Not so much for the singing as for fun for the audience. In that way, I hope you will enjoy the mood of each song, and perhaps even laugh a little, too.
