ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
“Miracles, Kings & Banana Peels” is a fresh and entertaining approach to the ancient art of storytelling. With wry humour, quirky yet endearing characters, twists, surprises, and an evocative musical score composed for each piece, these seven original tales will captivate children of all ages. Also inside is a beautiful 20 page illustration booklet.

James Funnyhat (a.k.a. James Patterson) is a Canadian Storyteller & Musician who performs for thousands of children in schools, daycares, parties, camps, and at special events. He lives in Toronto with his wife, Kathy and daughter, Sage.

Come on board the Magic Carpet of Storytelling as it takes us on an adventure of the imagination: We will go on a mountain trek with a team of reporters to investigate the truth of The Temple of Miracles, to the African savannah to witness a conference of two Kings, and back in time to the Renaissance where the genius sculptor, Lorenzo, communicates with stones. We will meet the plucky Princess Karina who has a better trick up her sleeve than the knights who are supposed to save her, and Alphonse, a 6-year old whose dream may change the Circus forever. We will see how a peasant girl's protest reveals the secret of the mighty King Bold, and will even go to a neighborhood near yours to meet a miserable grouch who has a brilliant plan to get happy.

Tamara Turner, CD Baby

Put simply, James Funnyhat presents kids' storytelling at its best. With a remarkably clever and entertaining approach to storytelling in conversation with a fresh, expressive and creative musical score which responds to the plot and characters throughout, these seven original tales will keep kids and their parents fully engaged. Employing humor and playfulness, the mix of quirky and endearing characters, surprises and fun musical interludes makes Miracles, Kings, & Banana Peels one of the best storytelling albums we've seen yet.
