It has been said that a familiar melody is like an old friend, offering warmth and familiarity when encountered after a long absence, and strength and comfort in times of sorrow or need. A few years ago when Janice was asked by a friend to write new lyrics for an old familiar tune, she found she enjoyed it so much that she decided to do several more.
Drawing from familiar tunes from England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, Janice‘s new lyrics focus on the Savior. "The Love of God" (tune: Oh Danny Boy) and "As We Walk This Life Together" (tune: "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing") are just two of fourteen new lyrics she wrote, now arranged with a slight celtic flavor by Greg Hansen. A fifteenth song ("O Fairest Land Where Lived the Blessed Savior") is Janice's own melody, but featuring lyrics by Olga S. Whitaker.
We think you'll love inviting these old friends into your home and listening to them again in a new light.
