Sun Dance is the third collaboration between Janice Kephart and J. Scott G., and their second foray into trippy dance music. Kephart's feminine poetry and delivery, described as 'orgasmic,' 'highly sensual,' and 'beautiful', is set off by J. Scott G.'s deeply masculine and physical progressive house grooves set to a combination of electronica, keyboards and lyrical punctuation. The mix and sound quality is at the height of production. The result is 'audio lemonade': sweet, light, a little tart, and cool with a strong undercurrent of heat.
Kephart and J. Scott G.'s prior collaborations, 'Rain Dance' and 'Undone Tears', both achieved critical acclaim. 'Undone Tears' was featured by CDBaby and tracks 'Moon' and 'Cloud' on digital radio stations. 'Rain Dance' was the longest-running top 5 powerHIT on Los Angeles-Based digital dance station shoutDRIVE.com at four months. 'Rain Dance' was also featured on Marcie's 'Behind the Lyrics 8' with other top trance/dance international DJs and artists.
J. Scott G.'s current work includes new music with American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert (release date currently set for January 2009). Scott's prior history with Deepsky Productions includes partnerships on remixes for artists including Madonna, Johnny Cash, Paul Oakenfeld, Seal, Peter Gabriel, David Bowie and America and multitudes of original electronica and dance music.
