ST. LOUIS RAPPER MAKES HIP HOP EP OUT OF ORIGINAL SONNETS.
Feb 5th- Jason and the Beast have just released "The Birth of the Beast," a five song Hip-Hop EP made out of original sonnets that put a modern spin on classic literature. Webster defines a sonnet as: a fixed verse form of Italian origin consisting of 14 lines that are typically 5-foot iambics rhyming according to a prescribed scheme; also: a poem in this pattern.
The CD features beats produced by Jason and the Beast's live DJ, Jerry Hill (DJ Uptown) and as well as beats co-produced by Jason and Indie rockers from such bands as The Floating City and Ghost in Light. It was recorded at Yellow Hat Studios in St. Louis.
