Album Notes
I composed this song after listening to an acoustic cover of the Tagalog song 'Kailan.' I wrote my verses after my wife translated the lyrics of the chorus to the Pangasinan dialect. My sister-in-law is the singer featured on the song.

The lyrics in the chorus state (translated) 'When will you notice my secret?' I wrote a boy-meets-girl story based on the chorus using the 'Secret' in two perspectives. The first 'Secret' is the boy's crush on the girl. The second 'Secret' is the girl's same-sex relationship with her friend.

I originally posted a rough draft of this song on Facebook to observe the reactions of my fans and friends. Coincidentally, a local radio station DJ in the Philippines downloaded it and aired it on his morning show rotation. This prompted me to get the song professionally mixed and mastered for the radio. I also created a remix for a future album version.

Thank you to:
My wife Love Joy Haft for translating and supporting.
My sister-in-law Arra Jade - you're a rising star!
Christian Queyquep / Kuya Jay Oriles of 90.3 Energy FM Dagupan City, Pangasinan, Philippines
Matt Salveson for the mix, master and bass arrangement, http://mattsalveson.wordpress.com/

kapigan.. kapigan mo napansin so iyaamot ko
(when, when will you notice my secret?)
anggano antoy gawaen ko, agmo papansinen
(no matter what i do, you don't notice)

anywhere i went i'd.. always see this chick
everywhere i spent time.. always feeling sick
butter flies in my gut just like a fat bastard
about to crash after cutting lines in a rush
i played the trap backwards, so direct
spotlights on me on the scene more or less
i gave her that look with my devilish grin
even though pride is foolish, a hell of a sin
she didn't even notice my hocus pocus
i know it's bogus to hold this focus
so i approached with dumb dumb lines
like what's ya name? what's ya sign?
she didn't melt or budge.. felt so crushed
like how could she ignore the pimped out fedora?
i guess it must've been boring for her
but there's more in store for us..

kapigan.. kapigan mo napansin so iyaamot ko
(when, when will you notice my secret?)
anggano antoy gawaen ko, agmo papansinen
(no matter what i do, you don't notice)

the next time i saw her i almost didn't holler
rocking dark shades in the shade like a stalker
at the arcade playing games with her partner
i could've preyed on her but hey, i'm a talker
then i sent her friend a toy bear &
wrote her & told her i know her & i enjoy staring
they started laughing & left the building
looking confused like messed up children
i stood there for a minute or two
yelling at myself like listen you fool
forget it already.. this isn't for you
just keep your feelings secret, stop giving her clues
but then she came back with her friend and said
that i'll never get her
they're together forever
so.. let's.. be.. friends.. get it? damn..

kapigan.. kapigan mo napansin so iyaamot ko
(when, when will you notice my secret?)
anggano antoy gawaen ko, agmo papansinen
(no matter what i do, you don't notice)

Jason Haft was born & raised in the East Bay Area of Northern California. His musical inspiration stems from his mother, who is a Philippines radio champion in the singing division. Jason Haft's music is a blend of west coast hip hop, gothic alternative rock, and classical gospel music. He is an independent entrepreneur who currently owns JDH.

Jason Haft started writing poetry in 1995. In the year 2000, he became interested in becoming a recording artist. The lack of industry contacts and associates forced him into creating his own style of music. Although being categorized in the hip hop genre, Jason Haft's music appeals to all people interested in listening to a harmonious blend of instruments. Jason Haft's lyrics are criticized as "controversial," due to the diverse variety of subject matter.

Jason Haft is the owner of JDH which is located in Union City, California. In addition to producing his own album, Jason Haft has produced songs for independent recording artists around the Bay Area, California. For more information, please visit:
