ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
In 1977, two student musicians at UC Berkeley, Jack Convery and Guy Robert, formed, along with John Stafford and Paul Levey, the quartet Jazzmen Tea.
This album was a result of their collaboration. It features oustanding clarinet and sax work by Guy & John, banjo & guitar by Jack, bass & guitar by Paul, joined by banjo leader David Marty, tenor banjo Abraham Van der Meulen and drums master Bob Scott. A mix of Gypsy jazz, french twist, and dixieland. It has been many years since they have performed together, but good music never dies. C'est Si Bon! Enjoy!

Afternoon "Garden Teas" in the Napa-Sonoma Wine County . . . perfect fit. A sunny afternon, a glass of wine, a stroll amoung vines and "Jazzmen Tea" . . . Nostalgia at it's best . . . C'est Si Bon!

JACK, I WAS A FEATURED GUEST ON THE 'SAN' TRACK ON YOUR JAZZMEN TEA ALBUM. I THINK THE RIGHT THING TO DO IS TO MENTION THIS FACT, OTHERWISE PEOPLE MAY THINK IT'S YOU PLAYING WHAT I AM PLAYING. IT NEVER HURTS TO GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE.
