ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The lyrics for this one sort of rolled out once I found the character's voice. I had the "catfish are jumpin'" part, but it wasn't until I put him in a mansion that it all clicked. My favorite thing about the song was that I was able to record the vocal and piano parts at the same time, which I'm rarely competent enough to do. Gives it a nice groove I think.

MOST of my songs are about relationships, but some of them just paint pictures, like this one. It's sort of a slice of history, from post 9-11. I guess it's my response to that event.

My second favorite part was assembling the sound collages in the intro and during the break in the middle. Parts of the intro had to be played on a signal generator, and it took many attempts to get that right. The radio parts were from an old short-wave set.
