ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This renowned trio, from Canada, has been together for 30 years. RETURNING is their fifth studio album and was recorded at Montreal’s prestigious Pierre Marchand studio. Known for their uncanny sense of interplay, understatement, and dynamic diversity, the trio has performed throughout North America and Europe and have recorded with such jazz legends as Kenny Wheeler, John Abercrombie and Dave Liebman. Their last two cd’s were both nominated for Juno Awards and their music has been described as “Outstanding in every way” and “Canadian jazz at its best” (Globe and Mail)
"Johnston, Vivian and Billard continue to make potent, lucid music marked by a keen sensitivity and connection." - Peter Hum, Ottawa Citizen
"music at the contemporary cutting edge..... immensely and immediately satisfying.” - Jazz Times Magazine
