Heart-stirring songstress Jenny Lynn Stewart is a performer of uncommon versatility. She is a classy, elegant singer with a warm, down to earth sensibility who is able to touch people’s emotions and inspire their lives. Due to its wide range, unique timber and emotional depth, her voice is suited perfectly for the nostalgic music of classical Broadway. Recent performances include her one-woman show “Richard Rodgers Revisited” at Don’t Tell Mama in New York City. Ms. Stewart received knock-out reviews including John Hoglund of BackStage saying “I believe she sounds most like a combination of a very young Barbara Cook and the late opera great Eileen Farrell. Her luminous sound fills the room with vocal magic.” Ms. Stewart’s newest show, The Sixties: On Broadway, is receiving standing ovations.
Her Broadway Diva show has delighted audiences with selections from opera to Broadway at numerous New York City venues including the Plaza Hotel, Asti’s, La Traviata and Riccardo’s Near the Bridge, as well as corporate and social events.
Ms. Stewart performed the role of Nettie Fowler in Carousel with Rockwell Productions, Ltd., receiving accolades from seven major newspapers in the Philadelphia area. Immediately prior to that, she concluded a ten-month national and international tour of The Sound of Music performing the role of the Mother Abbess to critical acclaim (over 250 performances in 43 states, 3 Canadian provinces as well as Seoul, Korea, Singapore, Bangkok, Thailand and Hong Kong, China). In Asia, Ms. Stewart played the Mother Abbess opposite Marie Osmond's portrayal of Maria von Trapp. She recently revisited the role of the Mother Abbess in a production starring John Davidson as Captain von Trapp.
Ms. Stewart also has estimable opera, concert and recital experience. Her operatic repertoire includes the title roles in Aida and Tosca, Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera, Leonora in La Forza Del Destino, Leonora in Il Trovatore, Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana and Magda in The Consul. Ms. Stewart made her Carnegie Hall debut as the soprano soloist with the Manhattan Philharmonic in Dvorak’s Requiem.
