ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Jeremy James Bonner has been writing poetry, lyrics and music nearly all of his life. Growing up in Colorado, he had a profound love for nature and spirit. As a worship leader (Music Director) within the Christian church, he fostered a profound love for people as well. This was also the time he began to delve into the world of psychology. He has written hundreds of Christian rock and worship songs and has had a web presence for nearly twenty years now. Working in churches and coffeehouses, as well as bars, Jeremy began to feel the limitations of his belief system. It simply no longer expressed his views of how we are to love one another. This paradoxical mix of emotion, dogma and unconnectedness would prove to be nearly fatal.

Struggling through the end of his 18 year marriage and the dismantling of his belief system, he fell into a terrible season of hopeless despair, with the events of one night ending in a criminal charge. “I wanted to die. Then I just woke up one morning and said enough. I prayed to God, please just show me what I need to know. Show me the truth.” This began a season of revelation, during which time Mystic Poetry was written, as well as hundreds of papers of thoughts and musings. An incredible spiritual revolution of thought had begun.

The unconscious actions of this one night earned him 6 months incarceration. Accepting his fate, he began to see the blessing in it all. While in prison, in an awesome moment of brotherly love Jeremy befriended a young man who had struggled with drugs nearly his whole life. As he witnessed his withdrawal in close quarters, Jeremy began to draw upon the inner guidance he’d been receiving, and helped the young man “reframe” his thinking. He taught him how to organize his thoughts into song and to find his voice. Inspired by the young man, Jeremy wrote the inspirational ballad, Stepping Stone ~ (The Ballad of Casey Quick), as well as Let Go and Let Love and Souls Alive.

Emerging with a new sense of love, belonging and connectedness, Jeremy James Bonner returned home to Florida and began writing his thoughts down, wherein he discusses his spirituality, music and stories of true empowerment. He found new inspiration in the idea that all of the “profound” thoughts he was having were now everywhere. People could actually see and understand him, as if a veil had been lifted. Settling into a life of acceptance and non- judgment led him to a place of incredible inner peace. With his heart now completely on fire with a sense of true connectedness, Jeremy began writing music again. Harmony Song and Full Expression were written at this time.

“The Universe has been opened up to me and I am responding by singing a new song. I am in this moment, and in this moment there are songs to be written and sung to each other. We are all God’s children and I accept everyone, because I know how it feels to be seen and labeled as something that you are clearly not. Fearless love moves me forward into the unknown, with an awesome sense of peace and wonderment. It’s time to live, and be free. It’s time to write some music!”
