Album Notes
Track 1. Nederland (The Netherlands)
For Jim, the Netherlands is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. He loves Amsterdam, and Rotterdam. Jim says that the Dutch people are very friendly, and he has friends there. Some of Jim's musician friends in the Amsterdam area asked him to write some music for their country. Jim told them he would be more than happy to do so.

Track 2. Euro Train
This is Jim's musical interpretation of what it was like riding the European trains in so many different countries.

Track 3. Red Square in Moscow
One of the things that Russians are known for is their beautiful music. This is Jim's musical version of watching people walking around Red Square in Moscow in the twilight of the evening on a warm summer day.

Track 4. Oslo, Norway
Norway is a beautiful country. There are many magnificent cities to see. Oslo, is one of the cities that Jim enjoyed visiting. "The people in Oslo love waltzes," says Jim, so he decided to compose a waltz just for them.

Track 5. Munich at Night
Being of German decent, Jim enjoys composing original German music. Jim's family came to the United States from a small town called Furstenberg, located just a little south of Munich.

Track 6. Estonia
Jim really likes to listen to music from Estonia. This is a song that he wrote about his experiences of playing music in their country.

Track 7. Flowers for Poland
Jim wrote this song for the people of Poland when they lost their dear President, Lech Kaczynski and his wife Maria, in a horrible plane crash. The Polish people are a very strong people, and this song was an effort to show their strength in times of tragedy. This is not a slow, sad song. Rather, it's a song with a strong upbeat that is musically composed to represent the strong hearts and courage of the Polish people in difficult times.

Track 8. Athens, Greece
Jim has always loved the Greek people and their way of life. Jim wrote this song from his remembrance of playing music in Athens, and learning to dance their style of folk dancing.

Track 9. Golden Ring of Russia
The Golden Ring (Russian: Золото́е кольцо́) is a ring of cities northeast of Moscow, the capital of Russia. They formerly comprise the region known as Zalesye. These cities include, Sergiyev Posad, Pereslavl-Zalesskiy, Rostov Velikiy, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ivanovo, Gus-Khrustalny, Suzdal, Vladimir, Rybinsk, Uglich, and Alexandrov. These are the magnificent cities that are so well known for their beautiful onion dome buildings. Jim composed "The Golden Ring of Russia" to honor not only this breathtaking area of these cities, but also the wonderful hearts of the people of Russia.

Track 10. Slovenia
This small country has a music style all of their own. It's really commendable, and so are their people. Jim composed this song in their unique style.

Track 11. Waltz of Romania
Jim has performed music in many countries in Europe. Romania is another one of the countries that he enjoyed the most. He wrote this waltz in remembrance of their kind people, and their country.

Track 12. Distant Voices
This is Jim's cover song for Distant Voices. Jim says it helps him travel in his mind and heart back to Europe when he played so much music, and met so many awesome people in Europe.
