FALLA & CASSADÓ: CELLO AND PIANO PIECES
From the most unknown Falla in his first creative period, we move into the more popular one, getting in the second decade of the 20th century, with the transcription made for cello and piano by the French Maurice Marechal of the well known Seven Popular songs, here under the name Spanish Popular Suite.
From the interesting existing work of Cassadó, two of his most popular ones have been selected for this recording: Sonata nello stile antico espagnolo (1925) and Requiebros (1931).
JIMENEZ-HIGUERO CELLO AND PIANO DUO
The Jiménez-Higuero duo started its artistic career in 1997. Fron this point an increasing activity of recitals began, taking them to perform in most of Andalucia and Spain.
César Jiménez is cello teacher in Conservatorio Superior de Música in Málaga, Spain, and principal cello in the Manuel de Falla Orchestra.
Juan Antonio Higuero is piano teacher in Conservatorio Superior de Música in Granada, Spain, and has performed with the City of Granada Orchestra and as an accompanist of the City of Granada Choir, touring Poland, Germany, the U.K. and Portugal.
