Album Notes
Congratulations !!!! Roseleaf Record’s sophomore release, JIMI BOTT “Bott & Paid For!” Is now #2 on The Real Blues Top 100 charts!

Features 3 of Portland OR Cascade Blues Association 2006 Muddy Award winners!

Best Harp The late great PAUL DELAY

Best Guitarist Phil " SUBURBAN SLIM" Wagner

Best Drummer JIMI BOTT

This CD has 3 bonus songs when you buy the jewel case CD for a total of 15 songs and 72 minutes of music!!!!

Featuring some of Pual deLay's last recordings it includes:

Jimi ( Drummer for The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers etc...) and Portland's Finest, is a modern day Super Session.

Recorded all on one rainy night in Portland (imagine that), this CD represents just a small portion of this huge well of talent and hopefully is just the beginning of what will become a series that will bring “Blues From The Great NW” to the rest of the world.

Blues enthusiasts will be sure to recognize the great PAUL DELAY master of the harmonica and vocalist extraordinare. While displaying the best of tradition and finesse Paul is one of the few Harpist’s who have also truly created his own cutting edge phrasing, sound, style and flavor that has yet seen rivalry.

DAVE “Long Distance” KAHL also an Oregonian, has been nominated for blues bassist of the year by the Cascade Blues association at least five times. A staple in the Paul Delay Band for 3 years he is never sick at sea and by far one of everyone’s favorite bassists to play with in town.
He actually listens to blues for enjoyment!

Originally hailing from Eugene OR Aaron “AC” PORTER , has been an integral part of the Portland blues scene for 24 years. His influences are clearly BB and the likes of Duke Robillard, Ronnie Earl & Hollywood Fats. Though many guitarist’s aspire to these great players and the high standards they set, few come as close as Porter to obtaining the intensity they project.

Long time CA transplant SUBURBAN SLIM has been in Oregon since 1981. During this time he has astonished crowds with his unbelievably soulful voice while baffling other guitarists with his crushing, mellifluous and seemingly endless ideas on his instrument. Phil Wagner aka Suburban Slim is a true modern day guitar slinger/songwriter with soul!

Unbelievably MARCO SAVO has never been showcased on any recordings until now. Originally from Pacific Grove Ca. Marco’s self taught Guitar approach stems from a world of stone cold jazz and the purest of blues. Swinging with an innate sense of rhythm, time and taste he is fueled by influences such as Jr. Watson, Chris Cain, Tiny Grimes & Cannonball Adderlay. Truly a master of his six string instrument and equally talented on four, here he works double duty taking on the bass chair for The Suburban Slim Band.

Also on the harp and vocals is JIM WALLACE. Originally from Newport Ca. he is heavily steeped in Chicago’s electric blues of the 50’s and 60’s. All would agree that Wallace is Portland’s finest embodiment of the great Little Walter, George “Harmonica” Smith & Walter Horton to name a few. Also featured here are his skills as a seasoned songwriter.

What can say about the assembled musicians on this disc. The entire discs rocks out, but the late Paul Delay is the highlight.

Steve Cheseborough

Great stuff but we want more Marco
Love it, especially those last two cuts. Now it's time for Marco Savo to get into the studio -- with this same band if he wants -- and make his own CD!

Tracey "PistolShot" Schmitt

A Drummer's Drummer!!!
From a drummer whose passion is the blues, the overall CD is outstanding. Jimi takes blues drumming to another level & elevates all the performers around him. The icing on the cake is that it is all done LIVE!, & the way blues should be. You can literally feel all the musicians' passion jump off the disc!!! Great stuff Jimi! Keep it up!

ummmm, hello...super.
I saw Pinetop Perkins at Lefty's in Salem a a few weeks ago, and his back up band was the No deLay Band with Jim Wallace on vocals and harp. Loved the show, and fell head over toenails for Jim Wallace and his uber blues... I found this CD, and holy schmoly the sound and feel is soul stirringly amazing. Thanks to the bunch of you, each morsel of blues is delicious.

Walter Herleman

Money well spent!
Excellent CD of modern West Coast Blues, and Roots music. Every time I listen to this CD, I'm more impressed with Jimi's playing. Not to mention, his ability to surround himself with the very best players working in these styles. Good Stuff!!!

Henk Punter (Amsterdam)

I can’t remember hearing anyone ever playing that tasteful.
Great Live record!
On track number 13 (Funky) Tin Pan Ally you can clearly hear the diversity of Jimi Bott’s drumming.

I can’t remember hearing anyone ever playing that tasteful.
