Brad at CD Baby

They call it their music the "good old boom bap," but this Oklahoma mini-crew might be showing a little false modesty by summing up their style in so few words. Through a well-selected array of crackling, dusty beats, they blend patches of echoing sounds with dark and introspective lyrics, focusing on self-doubt and a mental anguish that is possibly nothing more than an active imagination. So, the monsters under the bed works well as a metaphor, and it's a concept that's sure to hit home for a lot of folks. Conversely, they aren't afraid to lighten up with both the beats and the words. "All Smiles" is more promising and optimistic, but still remains charged with the darker energy that dominates the majority of the songs. If you like your hip hop intense and emotive, but also with the identifiable perspective that stems from the minds of just a couple of normal guys, hit this up.
