ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Every September for over 25 years, folk music stalwart, John McCutcheon, has been one of the headlining acts at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, KS. Every September, McCutcheon composes a song especially for the Festival. Sometimes it's before he gets there. Sometimes it right before he hits the mainstage. It's an inspiring place and inspired performances. Part folk festival, part family reunion, "Winfield," as it become known, is a magical place where the connection between the audience and McCutcheon is legendary. On this limited-release CD, he gathers 13 songs that he's written over the years for the Festival. Farming, family, love, loss, community, continuity, and even a song he wrote as he drove all night to get to the festival post-9/11.
