ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The one and only CD recorded by the late great saxophonist Joe Romano. Joe was a favorite for several years in the big bands of Buddy Rich, Louie Bellson and Woody Herman. Joe also recorded on Chuck Mangione's Riverside recording Recuerdo which featured Wynton Kelly, Sam Jones and Louis Hayes. Other small group records Joe did were a couple on Xanadu with trumpeter Sam Noto. Those recordings featured Romano with stellar musicians such as Barry Harris, Sam Jones and Billy Higgins.
For this hard hitting recording, he assembled a group of musicians that include NYC veteran's Joe Magnarelli on trumpet and Neal Miner on bass along with upstate NY jazz veteran's pianist Dino Losito and Mike Melito drums. This recording features original compositions by Romano, Magnarelli, Losito and bassist Miner along with a few standards. It has generated a lot of rave reviews and airplay all over the US.
