ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Joey Curtin began her musical career in the San Francisco Bay area. She has performed at the Sheraton Palace, Union Square, the Stonestown Galleria, the Ahwahnee Hotel and the Olympic Village Inn at Squaw Valley. Her cd "RIVER OF LIFE" is featured at the ANSEL ADAMS GALLERY in California.

Internationally, Joey has traveled to Ireland, Scotland, Italy, the Philippines, and Indonesia to perform and speak. She has been part of Peace/Reconciliation meetings in Northern Ireland.

Joey's trademark sound is the weaving of acoustic piano with synthesizers into stories beyond words. She is joined by friends on strings and percussion on "RIVER OF LIFE".... JASMINE KINNEY plays violin on various tracks; and GARTH WEBBER (who toured with Miles Davis) plays electric guitar on track 6 for a mystical arrangement of the ancient Irish melody "Be Thou My Vision".

During the year of 2004, Joey was hired by the Methodist Hospital at the Texas Medical Center in Houston to perform on a weekly basis. Her recordings have been used in emergency rooms, intensive care units, birthing rooms, cancer therapy centers and many other similar environments.
Patients and Doctors describe her music as "healing".

Refreshing music that heals and restores the soul...
This music is both refreshing and healing that cleanses and inspires. After work or a stressful day it restores perspective and imagination to one's spirit. The artist is gifted in her own right and innovative in her use of additional supporting instruments. A river of life pours through this music straight into your heart. Let's have more of this!

Cynthia Newland, Dance Director/choreographer/instructor

Joey's music is inspriational and reaches deep into the heart!!!
Joey's music is inspriational and reaches deep into the heart. As a choreographer and dance company director, I have had the wonderful privledge to create and perform dances to Joey's compositions. As a dancer, I would highly recommend using her music for teaching dance classes or as a base to create new dances. God breathes life into this compelling, yet soul soothing work of Joey's.

Takes one on a voyage of the inner sanctum!
Listening to River of Life touches one's inner heights & depths. I've found it very helpful for times of contemplation, cleansing the mind of daily details and distractions. Amazing atmospheres formed with keys, guitars, violins, etc.

Beautiful New Age music with a personal touch
Excellent New Age music. Instrumental throughout with superb use of synths backing the piano, amongst other instruments. All songs beautifully written by Joey except two tracks. One being Amazing Grace. Both given a great contemporary sound to them. All tracks have a personal feel as well as a very distinctive Celtic feel. Music that gives you that warm glow! Recommended
