ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Repertoire: Re-workings of well-known carols (such as The Truth from Above) plus many lesser-known songs (The Falcon Carol, As I in Hoary Winter’s Night and Lordings Listen to Our Lay); Wexford Carols such as The Darkest Midnight in December. Blow Northerne Wynde and The Hern (The Falcon Carol) are a very special case - one of Belinda's favourite singers is the late John Fleagle whose untimely death from cancer shocked the American early music world. She pays tribute to this favourite singer/songwriter by performing two of his settings of medieval texts - listen to, and buy John Fleagle's music here: http://magnatune.com/artists/albums/fleagle-bliss/

Exciting recording process: Joglaresa prefer to keep everything as live as possible so this CD was recorded in a single afternoon on 23 September 2009 - a rollercoaster... dash in, sing and play hearts out, dash out - this CD captures Joglaresa’s live performance at its best!
