Pathos Weavings

by John Catanzaro

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is an intimate dance of pain and denial here symbolized in the duet between cello and oboe. Both voices are within each of us and much of the angst we experience in life is when we try repress or ignore these darker images. As the music evolves, they begin to weave around eachother becoming more unified while still retaining the unique color, voice, and dialogue of their own particular story. This reflection is about the unknowable unknown that is present deep within the true center of each of us. When we are more conscious, we awaken to these shadow energies and their intricate harmony and delicate balance. We then become comfortable with the tension and can create a rich, unique path that is truly our own. We cannot dismiss it but we may be able to welcome it on its terms and that ultimately can bring a greater measure of freedom and beauty into our lives.
