ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
john foster must have worn out a few radios in his early years. from his intimate familiarity with so many diverse styles of music, he couldn't have let the dial rest for long on any one station. this is not to slight his authenticity in any one genre; it's more a measure of his sincere fascination with all the great music of the last five decades. some artists claim to have been influenced by a broad band of benchmark artists, past to present, but every time john picks up a guitar or opens his mouth to sing, the proof comes out. john hails from oklahoma city, the heart of a state steeped in a rich musical tradition, a place immortalized in song by musical greats as diverse as woody guthrie, bruce springsteen, and rogers and hammerstein. while oklahoma seems to have put the "w" in c&w, it also must have an isolated mineral in the groundwater that might explain the mass appeal of modern greats vince gill, reba mcentire, and garth brooks, as well as legends like leon russell, david gates, and jazz guitarist barney kessel. "i guess i was something of a wallflower as a kid", admits john, which explains why he had plenty of uninterrupted time to spend internalizing the classic songs of his youth. he took up guitar to give voice to those things that words can't seem to express, and maybe improve his chances of finding a place in his community. well, just listed to the cd and i'm sure you'll agree he's found his place.

A CD full of cool vibes and one you'll listen to over and over!!
Great solo album! The laid back song "Summer Dream" is
cool mood music ..a 60s flashback with a contemporary feel.
"Whenever it Rains" is another groove not to miss. A++
This album is a hidden gem!

I've been missing the Roy Orbison/Chris Isaak vibe from the radio these days and this CD finally hit the spot! Very cool & evocative songs... several are movie soundtracks... very visual. Loved I'm Not Breakin, Whenever It Rains, Out of My Soul, and Slow Like Quicksand. Excellent vocals and production.

One word should do it...Incredible. On second thought there aren't enough superlatives in the English language to describe this music. What an amazing talent--the vocals, the compositions, the guitar, the production. I've ordered everything John has listed, and I can't wait for more. Greater exposure is exactly what John's music needs.

fantastic cd!
I bought this for I'm Not Breakin', and was impressed with the ENTIRE album, especially Slow Like Quicksand, Whenever It Rains, and Only You. This album simply has GOT to get more exposure! Fantastic!

These Tunes Will Never Get Old!
I accidentally ran into "I'm Not Breakin'" while I was perusing the internet for the original artist of the song. Now, several of the songs on this CD have risen to the most played music on both my computer and my Zen Vision W (portable media player). I have never appreciated music more than this!
