Album Notes
With the debut of the recording "Bout Time" it is suffice to say it is an appropriate title. From John's humble beginnings with formal private piano and guitar lessons to stints with high school bands and the like, the creative learning process was well underway and has continued for forty years. After a Ten-plus year engagement with the HellHounds they made their mark. They recorded 3 CD's, they appear on 3 compilation cd's and the countless bootleg recordings from live shows. Sharing the stage with such notables as Rob Piazza & the flyers, Anson Funderburgh, Robert Lockwood Jr, and Hubert Sumlin to name a few, jamming with Bob Margoland (from the Muddy Waters Band) and engaging in conversation with John Lee Hooker and Junior Wells backstage....It stands to reason ...WHEW!!... "Bout Time".

The opening rockin' "RODE HARD, PUT UP WET" set the stage by mentioning "look out 'cause ya' ain't seen nothin' yet". Horn infused and slide injected cuts like "PO BOX" and "BUMP AND GRIND" are straight to the point, while driving tunes like "STUCK ON YOU" and "BATS IN THE BELFRY" as well as the confessing "GYPSY" speak of personal life experiences. Adding to the diversity of the album are a few stripped down acoustic - national steel treats like "BLUES FOR WILLIE GRANT" "VAMPIRE WOMEN" and the classic "HARD TIME KILLIN' FLOOR BLUES" as well as the Bourbon Street funeral march sound of "GRAVEDIGGER". This is an album with something for everyone... "'BOUT TIME".
