John H. Porter – Pianist/Drummer/Composer Extraordinaire
John H. Porter Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida was born and reared in a devout Christian home. Through his Church of God In Christ upbringing and his father who was his first pastor, John, “the preachers kid”, learned early in life to be led by the unction of God. Through his connection to God the gifting of expression through music was not only a talent but ministry.
Currently John lives in the Atlanta area with his supporting wife Elaine and their exceptionally brilliant son Rodney Jenkins Jr.
John has been greatly influenced by accomplished musicians in Jazz, R&B, Funk, and Gospel. These influences can be heard throughout his soulful melodies and are comparable to those of George Duke, Herbie Hancock, Ben Tankard, and Jeff Lorber and many others.
John has long awaited the realization of this project and it is in total dedication to his deceased parents, Elder Eugene and Sis Isabelle Porter.
