ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This CD presents Chopin's 4 Ballades and 4 Scherzi, dramatic extended works containing some of his most compelling piano writing. Also on the CD is the large-scale Polonaise in F# minor which incorporates a beautiful Mazurka for it's central section. These works are played for the first time on a grand piano by John Broadwood & Sons, 1832 by John Khouri, described by the Italian Musica magazine as an 'authentic virtuoso'. These well-known works sound completely different on the Broadwood piano enabling us to see them in a completely new light. Those who enjoy virtuoso piano playing will not be disappointed by the passionate playing on this CD.
