ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This CD features innovative performances of Frederic Chopin's two Piano Concertos in their solo piano versions played on pianos contemporary with their composition. Chopin played these works not only with full orchestra, but also with string quartet, two pianos and also as piano solos. In the slow movement of the F minor Concerto, Chopin rewrote the central section so that it can be played as a solo and the result is breathtakingly beautiful. Early piano specialist, John Khouri has taken a new look at these popular pieces, recording unique interpretations on his two early pianos.
